I’m currently facilitating a TMT group with six friends. Recently, we’ve been practicing intercessory prayer together. We believe praying for others is a key way to grow in love for others.
One of our group members privately shared with me that he’s praying for 286 people. By name. Every day.
He’s involved in education and the Spirit prompted him to start praying daily for his students. He’s kept it up since 2010. Even when students are no longer in his classes, he continues to pray for them.
He admits it takes at least an hour every day. But moved by the examples of Paul and Jesus, he’s convicted to continue.
What amazes me even more is that my friend’s a busy guy. He coaches soccer. He teaches. He has a rich family life. Yet every day he’s praying for 286 people.
