Prayer from Psalm 37: The End

Lord, I get so anxious.

I get so frustrated.

There is no end to the criminals and their crime, the tyrants and their tyranny.

But today, in your presence, I see that there is an end.

They have no future.  Like grass they will wither.  Like dry flowers they will crumble.

So I will stop my trembling and start my trusting.

I will stop plotting revenge and start planning what’s right.

I’ll stop worrying about the bad they’re doing and start focusing on the good I can do.

Because that’s the kind of life with a future.  That’s the kind of life that leads to peace.

That’s the ending I want to my story.
