Prayer from Psalm 21: Lows and Highs

My God, my God, it seems even you have forsaken me.

First, it was those people.  Like bulls they gored me.  Like lions they devoured me.  Like dogs they bit me.

But now it’s you.  Why are you so far away? 

Do not be far from me.  Do not be far from me.

Thank you.  You heard my prayer.  You came to my rescue.  The world is right again. 

I’ll proclaim you to others.  The whole world will hear about you.  You did it!
