Prayer from Psalm 17: Food for Lions

These people are lions! 

All they want is to hunt me.  All  they wish is to destroy me. 

I’ve done nothing wrong.  But now I’m their prey.

Rise up and defend me, Lord. 

Don’t let me be their dinner. 

Instead, fill their bellies with the hurt and harm they intended to give me.

Turn these lions into lambs.
