Yesterday was our celebrity sighting day. Meridith Viera and David Gregory (?) from the Today Show waved to us after finishing their shift on the show. We watched Al Rocker tape a segment for a future Today Show. We saw Franklin Graham head into Dean and Deluca. And Tony Bennett was eating pizza in the same spot we were.
We walked around Rockefeller Center and some of it’s stores nearby like Saks Fifth Avenue. We walked up 5th Avenue catching places like Saint Patrick’s Cathedral (an enormous and beautiful cathedral), World of Disney, Tiffany’s, Trump Tower, FAO Schwartz and the southern edge of Central Park. We toured the Modern Museum of Art and saw works by Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Van Goh (including The Potatoe Eaters, Starry Night Over the Rhine, The Sower, and Starry Night).
We ate a place in Times Square called Ruby Foo’s then took in the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. The Hall was beautiful and the largest such hall I have ever been in. The show was an amazing mix of animation, singing, and dancing. After the show we walked back to Times Square and had cheesecake at a place called Lindy’s. We walked back to the hotel through Rockefeller Center which was filled with Christmas lights, the big Christmas tree, ice skaters, and crowds.
