Usually, God, I talk. You listen.
That’s how prayer works.
I speak. You hear.
But today, God, you’ve thrown it in reverse.
You talk. I listen.
And what you say leaves me speechless:
O that my people would listen to me!
O that they would hear me!
I would crush the powers that pain them.
I would fill their deepest desires.
I’m sorry, God, for keeping communication one way.
Today, God, I will shut my mouth and open my ears.
I will listen.
Please talk.
So vital, yet I’m afraid, rarely practiced.
