Prayer from Psalm 73: Keep the End in Mind

Lord, my preacher says “God is good, all of the time.”

But my life says, “God is good, some of the time.”

How else can I explain these good things happening to bad people?

How else can I make sense of the bad things happening to good people?

But then, in quietness, I regain perspective.

I remember how this Story concludes.

I recall where You road leads.

Eventually, both the bad things and the bad people end.

Eventually, both the good things and the good people endure.

And rising, I confess: “God is good, all the time.”
