Prayer from Psalm 77: Yesterday’s Hope for Today

Today, God, you seem distant.

Invisible.

Intangible.

Inaccessible.

I cry for help.  But do you even hear?

Then I remember yesterday.  I think about the past.

You seemed close.

Visible.

Tangible.

Accessible.

I cried for help.  And I had no doubt that you heard me.

So I will trust.

I will hope.

I will believe that who you were in my best yesterday is who you are in my worst today.
