Prayer from Psalm 4: I Can’t Sleep Lord

This entry is part 4 of 158 in the series Prayers from the Psalms

Lord, as the day ends, the worrying begins.

As the sun sinks, the stress rises.

My heart is racing.  My mind is running.  I can’t get over the bad things said to me and the bad things done to me.

So here I am–on my bed, wide awake.

Calm my trembling mind.  Fill my heart with joy.  Let me rest in you.

Let me sleep in peace.

This is such an honest prayer! I find it hard to believe that no one has commented in the 9 months since it was posted. Beautiful, simply beautiful, as only transparancy can be. I’ve had way too many nights like this … I’m older now, and pray sooner than I used to. Sometimes. :) Thank you so much!
