Lord, the contractor can construct an award-winning house.  But if you aren’t the foreman of the project, something’s missing.

Lord, the city council can call every officer to stand guard at the city limits.  But if you aren’t the chief of police, something’s missing.

Lord, I can get up earlier than most and stay up later than most.  But if you aren’t number one on my to-do list, something’s missing.

You, Lord, wish to be immersed in our everyday work.  From our occupation to our security to our next project, you desire to be woven into our daily life.

May I not take a single step or a single breath today without you.
